I am Principal and founder of Oikos Ecology LLC, an ecology consulting firm specializing in ecological planning and ecosystem restoration. I work mainly with institutional, public sector, and nonprofit entities. I am a systems ecologist with over 28 years of experience in ecology of wetlands, streams, and forests, restoration ecology, green infrastructure, ecological planning, ecological modeling, and statistical analysis. I am particularly interested in understanding and managing the functions of complex, species rich ecological systems, how these respond to human-caused environmental changes, and how they can be restored and managed to better meet society’s or landowners’ goals for them. I enjoy collaborating with engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, and other ecologists and environmental scientists to create imaginative project solutions that meet the client’s goals.
