Foundations of Biology and Microbiology Lab Instructor Positions

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for five fulltime Lab Instructor positions, each on an 8-month basis, with anticipated start dates of 26 August 2019. Four positions entail teaching Foundations of Biology Labs, and one position entails teaching BIOSC 1855 Microbiology Lab. These positions are outside of the tenure stream and subject to annual review. Applicants must have an MS or PhD in biology. The courses include both guided inquiry and authentic research lab experiences for early career undergraduates. Evening sections may be needed. In addition, some service is expected, such as department committees and helping the leadership team coordinate and administer the courses.
