Dr. Meera Govindaraghavan
Patent Agent - Cooley LLP
Dr. Meera Govindaraghavan is a patent agent focused on the preparation andprosecution of patent applications, analysis of patent portfolios, preparation of opinionsand strategic counseling, in the life sciences, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.She is experienced in working with diverse technologies including recombinant proteinsand antibodies, therapeutic drugs and methods of treating diseases. Her work isinformed by her technical expertise and research experience in molecular genetics andcell biology. Prior to joining Cooley, Meera was a patent agent at an IP-focusedboutique law firm in Washington DC, where she managed the prosecution ofbiotechnology-related patent applications and advised clients based primarily in Asiaand Europe. Her doctoral research was focused on the regulation of the cell cycle in themodel filamentous fungus, Aspergillus nidulans, and involved the use of live cellconfocal microscopy, biochemistry and genetics. Meera also conducted post-doctorateresearch work at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA andCornell University, Ithaca, NY. Her research has been published in top-tier, peer-reviewed scientific journals and recognized at international conferences.
