We will have two phenomenal key note speakers. Scott Strobel from Yale will speak Friday evening. He is a world-famous RNA biochemist. But he has many and varied interests…he also leads an HHMI program that brings undergraduate students to the Amazon to collect specimens that have the potential to yield novel chemical compounds. Saturday night, we have lined up Mazviita Chirimuuta, from Pitt's Department of History & Philosophy of Science. She studies the philosophy of perception.

These exciting speakers, the 2nd year students's skit, fabulous talks by our own faculty, karaoke, surprise activities…all at the beautiful Pymatuning Laboratory…what more could you want?

Please join us for this weekend of exciting science and getting to know the other and new members of the department.
