SEMFS is an organization established to create a sense of excitement and enthusiasm about sharing knowledge and inspiring the youth in the Pittsburgh community. In particular, SEMFS hopes to encourage an interest in and spread awareness of the opportunities associated with a career or post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Additionally, members of this organization have the opportunity to reach out to students K-12 through tutoring. Currently, SEMFS holds two events a semester in which members provide demonstrations and hands-on activities for the youth involved. Since we are interested in planning more than two events per semester, university students from all majors are encouraged to get involved.
