İsa Özdemir

  • Post Doctoral Associate | Hainer Lab

Isa Ozdemir is a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Sarah Hainer at the University of Pittsburgh, studying how nucleosome remodelers regulate gene expression programs in development and disease. His research integrates epigenetics and chromatin biology to understand how gene regulatory mechanisms operate across biological contexts.

He earned his PhD in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Geneva, where he investigated transgenerational epigenetic inheritance using C. elegans as a model system. His PhD work has been recognized with the 2025 Arditi Prize.
