The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in the broad areas of Biochemistry, Genomics, Gene Expression or Microbiology pending budgetary approval. The positions are anticipated at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level. We seek outstanding scientists who will enhance and complement existing strengths in our broad-based interactive biology department. Candidates working in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:
- Microbiology, including microbial genetics, genomics and host-pathogen interactions
- Biochemical approaches to understanding protein function, including structural biology, proteomics and protein-protein interactions
- Molecular biology, including control of gene and protein expression.

Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience and will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program, train graduate students, and actively participate in undergraduate science education.
