Professor Rick Relyea is a recipient of the David and Tina Bellet Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Pittsburgh. Established in 1998 with a gift from Dietrich School alumnus, David Bellet (A&S '67) and his wife Tina, and endowed in 2008 through the family's further generosity, this annual award recognizes outstanding and innovative teaching in undergraduate studies in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.

Assistant Professor Jonathan Pruitt was named as a recipient of the 2014 University of Pittsburgh Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award in the Junior Scholar category.  Prof. Pruitt studies the causes and consequences of intraspecific trait variation, and uses spiders as a model system.  Many congratulations to Prof. Pruitt and to the Pruitt laboratory!
