Pitt Day of Giving: support research at PLE!

Dean's Challenge 2021

Pitt Day of Giving is Tuesday, February 23!

The Department of Biological Sciences has been chosen as one of 5 departments in the Dietrich School to be eligible to win the Dean’s Challenge this year. If 50 supporters give to our department’s cause, we will receive an additional $2,000 of support from Dean Kathleen Blee.

Our Pitt Day of Giving fundraising efforts will go toward providing funding for undergraduate research opportunities at the Pymatuning Lab of Ecology.

For biology majors, a gateway to many career paths involves involvement in undergraduate research. The summer term is the ideal time frame for becoming involved in research as other academic pressures are low and significant time is available to become immersed in a project. Undergraduate research experiences for those interested in ecology and organismal biology are limited on campus so we are raising funds to support an undergraduate research program at the Pymatuning Laboratory of Ecology, the university’s field station.

Your support will help defray the costs of summer research – including living expenses, housing and board – incurred by students wishing to perform research at the field station.

I hope you will join me in supporting our Pitt Day of Giving campaign. Together, our gifts can make a great difference for our students.

You don't have to wait until February 23 to make your gift!  You can make your gift early by using the link below and clicking GIVE TODAY then selecting PYMATUNING UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH FUND:
