Faculty search for positions in Genetics/Genomics & Cell Biology

TWO FACULTY POSITIONS
Cell Biology and Genetics & Genomics

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty appointments, one in Cell Biology and one in Genetics & Genomics, pending budgetary approval.  Appointments are anticipated to begin in September 2014 and will enhance our broad-based interactive community of scientific researchers in modern biology.  We encourage all candidates who use eukaryotic or microbial systems and are asking cutting edge questions in cell biology or genetics and genomics to apply.

We anticipate making both appointments at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level.  Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. and extensive postdoctoral experience and will be expected to establish extramurally funded research programs, train graduate students, and actively participate in undergraduate education and research.  To ensure full consideration, applications should be received by November 1, 2013.  Applicants should email a single PDF document identifying the position for which they would like to be considered in the subject line (“Cell Biology Search”, or “Genetics & Genomics Search”), and containing a curriculum vitae, a 2-3 page statement of research accomplishments and future plans, and a brief description of teaching interests to biojobs@pitt.edu.  Applicants should also arrange to have at least three letters of reference sent to biojobs@pitt.edu.

Further information about the Department of Biological Sciences is available at: http://www.biology.pitt.edu.  The University of Pittsburgh is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and values equality of opportunity, human dignity and diversity.
