Congratulations to Dina Condeluci the recipient of the 2022 Orosz Award for Excellence in Emerging Leadership

Dina Condeluci is the recipient of the 2022 Orosz Award for Excellence in Emerging Leadership among our staff!

Dina serves as Administrative Assistant in the Department of Biological Sciences. Her colleagues noted the important impact Dina has had on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the department, including making recommendations to update the department’s social media and website presence, recruiting and mentoring undergraduate students on the department’s diversity committee; and organizing a Women in Science event for the department in February of this year, among many other things. “She has made the communication and the camaraderie in the department better.  Truly, Dina has been an integral part of building community and has been the cohesive partner to a host of departmental work.”

The Orosz Award recognizes Dietrich School and College of General Studies staff members in the early stages of their careers at the University of Pittsburgh who have exhibited excellence in their performance and displayed leadership qualities among their peers. The award is given in honor of Michael Orosz, a long-time staff member who served in the department of Biological Sciences and who passed away unexpectedly in 2003.  Mike’s family generously donated funds to establish an endowment in his name to recognize staff excellence in performing their jobs.
