Jeffrey Brodsky named Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award winner

Jeffrey Brodsky, Avinoff Chair of Biological Sciences in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, was honored for his research in cell biology and biochemistry, connecting basic research to health applications. Among his contributions to the field, Brodsky discovered a quality control system in a part of the cell that breaks down proteins that have folded incorrectly, a pathway related to many human diseases.

Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Hainer, Iris Marion Young Award Faculty Recipient

Dr. Hainer is this year’s faculty recipient of the Iris Marion Young Award for Political Engagement. The award is offered annually by the Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies program in conjunction with the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and honors those who work to promote justice at the University or elsewhere. Dr. Hainer was recognized for her work both inside and outside the department promoting equity and inclusion
