I have long been attracted to subject material spanning multiple disciplines. Although I have a background in cell biology, my graduate research was in atmospheric science and climatology. My experience in graduate school also sparked an interest in the science of teaching and learning, and I would like to combine these interests by developing biology-based interdisciplinary courses. My focus is on the intersection of climate and biology, especially in the context of climate change, and how this can be connected to other natural and social science disciplines, from oceanography and public health to political science and urban planning. Exploring these associations can enhance our understanding and appreciation of this increasingly interconnected world.
