Frequently Asked Questions:

What jargon should I use when describing this type of video system?

It is a "H.323 compatible system" (also can do SIP & H.324 - but that first one is your best bet...)

Can I connect to a Vidyo conference/system?

Yes - as long as their Vidyo system has a VidyoGateway appliance

Can I just use the system to display a huge version of my computer screen?

  1. Connect your computer to one of the data cables in the table.
  2. On the remote click the key with a picture of a laptop on it
  3. Click the remote key with a person on it & select Full-screen PC
  4. Toggle the remote key with a home to get rid of the menu display
  5. Toggle the remote key with a big "C" to get rid of clock display

How can I get that camera to stop looking at me!!!

On the remote, hold down the red phone icon until the option for Standby Mode appears

The literature on the Tandberg Quickset c20 makes it sound like it can only communicate with one remote site, how can we conference with multiple remote sites?

Computing services at Pitt offers a Video Bridging Service that allows up to seven remote sites to conference with our Tandberg unit. Our unit has already been certified for use with this service.

How do I interact with the far-end location (ie: need to select from menu or enter code)?

Once connected to far-end location, use the left-most tiny button towards the top of the remote to toggle between sending info to the "near end" or "far end".  Needs to be set on "far end" to navigate menus (using the arrow buttons).  Needs to be set on "near end" to enter number/letter codes.
